This July, RCC's Summer Conservatory production is a youthful and vibrant one sure to delight audience members both young and old! Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach), the Tony Award-winning Roald Dahl's MATILDA The Musical is a captivating production that revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life. Packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs, MATILDA is a joyous girl power romp for the whole family!

Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She is unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher Miss Honey. During her first term at school, the two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however--the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves to punish those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!

With book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, MATILDA The Musical has won 47 international awards and has thrilled sold-out audiences around the world. Children and adults alike will be absolutely delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.

NOTE: Strobe lights, theatrical smoke and haze may be used during this performance. The show is rated PG. And, although the show is suitable for most audiences, parental guidance is recommended for all shows, particularly for small children. (No kiddos under age 4 admitted. Sorry NO babes in arms.) EVERYONE must have their OWN ticket, including children. (Please be advised that titles and show dates are subject to change when changes are mandated by royalties' companies. Pre-purchased tickets for Disney's NEWSIES have been re-issued for MATILDA. We anticipate doing NEWSIES in the summer of 2025.)
